Another month, another late blog. Someday I'll face a reckoning with Mila and my "second child mothering", which includes late blogs, scant baby book entries and fewer pictures.
When Mila was born Art and I said to each other, "We just have to make it to three months". After all, that was when things with Ava got much easier after a pretty rough start. I'm not sure what I expected at three months. Sleeping through the night (Ava was consistently giving us 6-8 hour stretches by three months)? A reduction in crying (Ava's crying dramatically decreased at this point)? Teddy bears and rainbows (because who doesn't love Care Bears)? So begins my first lesson in why you should never compare your children.
Mila likes to keep us on our toes. One night she'll sleep for eight hours. The next night she'll sleep for three hours total (in 30 minute increments). One day she'll nap in her crib or the swing happily, the next day only my arms will do. Luckily she has a sweet disposition and loves to giggle and laugh :)
"Keep trying to figure me out, mommy. Round and round we go".
Mila is pretty good with tummy time and has excellent neck control. The better to watch us and make sure all attention is on her, all the time.
Mila weighed in at 11 pounds, 14 ounces at her three month check up. She also grew to 24 inches- long and lean!
Skills: Great neck control, giggling, shoving her whole fist in her mouth (a handy party trick), sitting up in her exersaucer (shown above!), growing extra wild hair.
Likes: Being chauffeured in the Baby Bjorn, mom's arms, watching Ava's hijinks, snuggling, bath time and belly kisses
Dislikes: Mom reading her sleep training books in preparation for next month, being put down, riding in the car (seriously, ugh)
