We've made it a point to say Ava's prayers before bed each night. We say the standard "Now I lay me" and "Our Father" prayers, then say, "God bless mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa", etc.
Recently, Ava started saying the "God bless" part of the prayers herself. We ask her each night what she wants to bless, and here's what she has to say:
Some of her standard answers:
-Mommy
-Daddy
-Baby Mila (pronounced Mi-ya)
-Katesies (Kate)
-Grandma
-Grandpa
-Teta Alexis
-Uncle Rob
Some of her more unusual answers:
-My tootsies (her feet)
-Suitcases
-a tiger (she didn't specify which tiger, so I guess somewhere in the world
there's one very lucky tiger)
there's one very lucky tiger)
-pillows
-Daddy's beer
-the ceiling fan
My favorite answer:
-All the people in the world
Oh, she also uses the prayers as a defense mechanism. If we're out and about and a stranger talks to her, Ava will look at me and start saying her prayers. It really confuses people, which may be her intent- to distract and disengage.
